The Team

Kay Stephenson, APRN, Board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Florida Licensed independent practitioner

Kay earned her Master's Degree as an acute care nurse practitioner at the University of Texas, Arlington, and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at New York University. Her work experience as an Advanced Practice Practitioner includes over 14 years of inpatient pulmonary critical care and internal medicine in collaboration with intensivists and hospitalists. She manages the CEH Oxygen and Medical Evaluation team and makes sure all our backgrounds work together to help support your health goals.

Supplemental oxygen can prolong survival of end stage lung or heart disorders and can improve your quality of life. Besides treating hypoxemia (low oxygen levels), having supplemental home oxygen promotes mobility so you can live your best life.

At CEH Oxygen and Medical Evaluations, we provide prompt professional medical service at your domicile (home, assisted living facility, hospice, nursing home), office, or hotel.

Insurance companies require a face to face encounter by a medical provider to evaluate your eligibility for coverage for home oxygen therapy. Our providers assist your referring PCP or pulmonologist to facilitate this process and will follow up with you as needed.

What to expect during our evaluation:

personalized professional service
review of your health history
heart and lung assessments
pulse oximetry assessment on and off oxygen during rest and with exertion
education as it pertains to your respiratory health and well being
evaluation of educational deficits relating to oxygen equipment and use
all of the above will be communicated back to your referring primary care provider or pulmonologist

Care of Adults

At CEH Oxygen and Medical Evaluations, we provide service to adults 18 years and older. As we expand our practice in the future, certified providers will service patients across the life span. We're here to help you along the pathway to wellness. You may need home oxygen:

if you have chronically low levels of oxygen in your blood
if you have a chronic pulmonary (lung) or cardiac (heart) disease that causes your body to need more oxygen
for an acute (sudden) exacerbation of your condition and still need oxygen after discharge from the hospital
to relieve breathlessness caused by an advanced or life limiting disease
if you have low oxygen levels during activities or daily exercise
conditions include advanced heart failure, COPD, pulmonary hypertension due to COPD, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease (ILD), pneumonia

We specialize in working closely with your primary care provider, pulmonologist, and oxygen supply company if applicable in obtaining qualification for your home oxygen needs.
Education is also an important aspect to live an optimal life on home oxygen, so we address educational deficits to promote your pulmonary health.

When it comes to evaluating your need for oxygen, a reliable encounter with focus on pulmonary evaluation and oxygen testing requires face to face visits. CEH Oxygen and Medical Evaluations has a holistic approach to your care. That means we consider all of your needs (physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual) for scheduling and during visits. We are flexible. Our providers can meet you over a HIPAA compliant connection in order to shorten the home visit time. Same day appointments available!
